Tea has been a cornerstone of Russian culture since 1618, when the Chinese ambassador gifted Tsar Michael Fedorovich several chests of tea. Initially met with skepticism—accustomed as they were to fruit-infused beverages—Russian nobility soon found a way to enhance its flavour. Legend has it that one of the Tsar’s chefs infused the tea with citrus, spices, and herbs, transforming it into a warm, aromatic delight. Thus, a new Russian tradition was born.

Over the centuries, Russians perfected their tea-drinking rituals, favouring robust, full-bodied blends enriched with citrus, ginger, and herbs. These teas were often brewed in samovars, the iconic Russian tea urns, and served sweetened, making tea an essential part of daily life—so much so that Russia remains one of the world’s largest tea-consuming nations today.

Our Russian Earl Grey "чай Эрл Грей" in Russian, pays homage to this rich history, blending the classic boldness of bergamot with sweet orange peel and soothing lemongrass for a perfectly balanced, citrus-infused experience. Orange pieces containing vitamin C, Bergamot, known for its calming properties, helps reduce stress and enhance focus, while lemongrass provides antioxidant and digestive benefits. This tea is both invigorating and smooth, ideal for sipping at any time of day.

Enjoy it black, with a splash of milk to enhance the citrus overtones, or sweetened in true Russian style. However you prepare it, this is a tea to savour—steeped in history, flavour, and wellness.
